Life Update: Things Are Starting To Get Bubbly

Hi,

It’s been two months since I blogged which almost made me forget how to blog! However, I’m back and more importantly better than ever. I can’t believe it’s now April, these months are flying by. The last time I wrote a blog post was in January and I was feeling more inspired than ever. Which comes with the New Year and this idea of a “fresh start” and a chance to be a better version of yourself.

So, I found myself going to the gym at 6 AM which I thought I would NEVER do in the history of my existence. Yet, what I noticed as the days progressed was that it was not only good for my body, mind, soul but it set the tone for my entire day. So, as the days went on things just started to feel more productive. Then like many of us, I fell off the wagon. I no longer woke up at 6 AM, started to push my dreams aside, and ultimately, put my goals on the back burner, and started to go back to that old Lex. Which is okay, because it happens! The most important thing in this life is you just have to get back on the wagon when you fall off!

“If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.”

Fast forward, my college winter break was over in January, sadly. So I was headed back to school for my final semester of undergrad {still can’t believe it} and before I could even blink my course work started to pick up. I registered for what seems to be one of the most challenging research classes in the history of Rutgers University. It’s funny because all things considered, I am Senior and so many of peers are currently coasting to the finish line. Yet, here I am having one of the hardest semesters in my college career. So I put my academics first and the things I loved to do last. Shifitng my attention toward that and negleticting this.

February

In February, it was my first time getting back to the blog unofficially. I was able to table at one of my Her Campus events our “Girl Boss Social“. Girls were able to come up to my table and learn about how I became a girl boss. Which is such a loaded term and means something different to everyone. Nonetheless, it was such a good time letting others in on how I started blogging, the highs — the lows, and just the overall accomplishments that have come from blogging. It was so interesting to see how many young women wanted to start a blog, create YouTube channel, BUILD A BRAND, but just didn’t know where to start. In more ways than not, I found myself in all these women. The best advice I could ever give to them and to you, if somehow you are reading this and feel the same…

READ AND RESEARCH ABOUT WHATEVER IT IS YOU WANT TO DO, THEN GO FOR IT — FULL FORCE, NEVER EVER LOOK BACK, AND LASTLY HAVE FAITH IN THE FACT THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE OK FOR AS LONG AS YOU STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF.

March

Things started to heat up rather quickly in March with assignments, applying for jobs, and just getting ready for graduation! Some exciting news that came in March which defintely was unforgettable was I got my first job offer, selected to go to the Women In The World Summit {blog post coming soon}, became a Maybelline Partner and Ambassador for Rutgers University, and last but defintely not least I lost 15lbs! I really started to get confident in who I was both mentally and physically. it was really a month of clarity and self-acceptance and love. It was truly eye-opening because I started to get discouraged as to what I could offer the world. Turns out I could offer a whole hell of a lot!!!!

April

Life started to get bubbly when I came in contact with Diet Coke’s new flavors and was able to partner up with them through my Her Campus team! Which turns out to be now one of my go-to drinks! I really love the Strawberry Guava and Blueberry Acai. If you haven’t drunk them just yet, I encourage you to give them a try! Even if you aren’t a big fan of Diet Coke these new flavors might actually change your mind.

I’m super anxious and excited for May because I’ll be turning 22, graduating from Rutgers University, and WOW- I’ll really be an adult!!!! If you don’t already be sure to follow me on Instagram ,because I post on my Instagram stories almost every day and in feed at least twice a week! So you’ll always be in the know on what I’m doing.

Until next time. Talk soon.
